Points & Scoring

All players will be assigned a table. You will receive your table number at registration the day of the event. • All play during the tournament is individual. You will not be playing with a partner. • A bell or emcee will signal the beginning and end of each round. Each round will last a designated amount of time. Play will be run by the clock, not points or Little or Big BUNCOS. There are six rounds within each set of BUNCO. Each round will represent a different key number, starting with “1” and continuing sequentially to “6.” At the finish of the six rounds, the set is complete. • At the beginning of each round, the first person to roll is the first to grab the dice. The game will move in a clockwise rotation. • Players earn points by rolling the three dice. • Rolling the dice requires all dice to bounce and not be set down. If any of the dice fall off the game table, all dice must be rolled again. Be courteous, and please don't interfere with any player's roll. If any disputes exist, the game marshals will have the final say. • As a reminder, the key number will be announced right before play begins. • Single Points: In each round, players score single points when the number shown on any die is the same number as the key number. One point is awarded for each matching number rolled. For instance, in Round 2, the object is to roll three twos. If the player rolls one two, the player receives one point and rolls again until no points are scored. In Round 1, the object is to roll three ones; If the player rolls two ones, the player receives 2 points and rolls again. As long as you score on your roll, you get to keep rolling and collecting points. Once none of the dice you roll are the key number, or if you roll a Little or Big BUNCO, pass the turn to the player on your left. • Rolling three-of-a-kind, other than the number of the round you're on, is a Little BUNCO. For example, rolling three 2’s in Round 4 is worth 5 points. If a player rolls a Little BUNCO, the player must call out "Little BUNCO!" to receive 5 points. The dice are then passed to the next player on your left. • Rolling three-of-a-kind of the same number of the round you're on is a Big BUNCO. For example, rolling three 4’s in Round 4 or three 5’s in Round 5 is a Big BUNCO. It is worth 21 points. If a player rolls a Big BUNCO, the player must call out "Big BUNCO!" to receive 21 points. The dice are then passed to the next player on your left. • Players keep track of their points, Little BUNCOs, and Big BUNCOs on their own BUNCO score card. Make sure you record the number of Little and Big BUNCOs rolled. • At the end of each round, players must total their points. At the end of each set, players must total all of their rounds. • Game marshals will be present to answer questions or resolve disputes. • Prizes will be awarded at the end of the night for various categories. All attendees will have an opportunity to win great prizes donated by area businesses.
