About Youth With Vision
Established in 1994, Youth With Vision was a collaborative partnership between the Western Regional office of the Missouri Department of Mental Health,
Division of Alcohol and Drug abuse, National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence and Tri-County Mental Health Services. After 12 years of encompassing
7 counties in Kansas City, in 2007 Youth With Vision narrowed their focus to the Northland which includes Clay, Platte and Ray counties.
Over the past twelve years, Youth With Vision has built a reputation as one of the premiere youth driven advocacy and prevention organizations in Missouri.
Youth With Vision members serve as an advisory council for local Community 2000 Teams, the Northland Coalition as well as other statewide prevention agencies
including ACT Missouri and the Missouri Youth Adult Alliance (MYAA).
Youth With Vision’s mission is “to create drug-free communities for future generations by putting education into action.” Youth With Vision is a student-run organization
made up of high school leaders from throughout the seven-county Kansas City metropolitan area. Vision team members are passionate about creating positive changes by
directly addressing the devastating effects of alcohol and other drug abuse within their schools and communities. They are committed to making a positive difference in their
schools and communities. Members also spearhead prevention programming within their own school and communities and coordinate area and statewide prevention efforts.
